Significant Progress In Research On Key Technologies For Continental Shale Oil Exploration

PetroChina relies on the national oil and gas special project, the 973 plan and the company's major science and technology projects to solve the theoretical flaws and technical bottlenecks faced by shale oil exploration and development, and promote the effective use of shale oil scale.

Significant progress has been made: breaking through the formation pattern of foreign marine shale oil, and initially established the theory of China's continental shale oil enrichment. The main controlling factors of organic shale formation in the freshwater and salt water environment of the continental lake basin are revealed, and three genesis and distribution patterns of fine-grained sandstone, carbonate rock and organic-rich shale in the continental lake basin are established. It is considered that the continental shale strata are widely developed. The stratigraphic structure and the micro-nano-scale pore-throat system have created conditions for the large-scale enrichment of shale oil. It is proposed that the optimal configuration of high-quality source rocks, large-scale reservoirs and source and reservoir is a new understanding of the key factors in the formation of dessert areas.
