How is a fuel nozzle activated?

The activation of a fuel nozzle depends on whether it is a manual or automatic nozzle. Here's an explanation of how each type is activated:

Manual Nozzle:

In a manual fuel nozzle, activation is entirely controlled by the user.

The user typically squeezes a trigger or engages a lever on the nozzle to initiate the fuel flow.

The trigger or lever needs to be held down throughout the fueling process to keep the nozzle open and allow fuel to flow into the vehicle's tank.

The user releases the trigger or disengages the lever to stop the fuel flow, completing the activation process.

Automatic Nozzle:

An automatic fuel nozzle is designed to activate and deactivate automatically, reducing the need for continuous manual control.

Activation is initiated when the nozzle is inserted into the fuel tank of a vehicle. Some automatic nozzles use a pressure-sensitive mechanism that detects the resistance caused by the fuel entering the tank.

As the nozzle is inserted, the pressure or sensor mechanism triggers the opening of the nozzle, allowing fuel to flow automatically.

The automatic shut-off feature is triggered when the fuel level in the tank reaches a certain point, preventing overfilling. This is typically achieved through pressure changes or electronic sensors.

Once the fuel tank is full, the automatic nozzle automatically stops the fuel flow and disengages, completing the activation process without the need for user intervention.

In summary, manual nozzles rely on the user's direct control, requiring the activation and deactivation to be managed manually through a trigger or lever.
