Tanker maintenance experience

Apr 30, 2024

The inspection and maintenance of the refueling machine should be done during the peak periods of oil station operation to prevent accidents, maintain refueling efficiency and service quality, and to avoid turning off the power supply of the refueling machine. Place ice cream cones around the refueling machine as a warning for isolation. After opening the outer cover of the refueling machine, lay it flat on the ground within the isolation area, ensuring it does not block the lane.

Specific operations are as follows:

Wipe to ensure cleanliness. The internal and external parts of the tanker should be wiped daily to ensure they are free from oil. Pay special attention to the oil gun, hose, internal oil, gauge, and connection lines. Besides aesthetics, this practice is essential for timely detection of oil leakage. Imagine the consequences if oil were to accumulate everywhere in the tanker; it would be nearly impossible to detect leaks.

Check the display and keyboard. Ensure the display is clear with normal backlighting and that the keyboard keys are sensitive. Display malfunctions may cause customers to dispute the amount of oil filled, leading to complaints. Keyboard malfunctions may result in incorrect oil quantity settings, leading to disputes and potential lawsuits.

Check the oil sight glasses. The oil sight glasses should be filled with oil and free from leakage. If bubbles are observed in the oil sight glass, it indicates a leakage in the tanker pipeline, which will result in inaccurate metering and potential customer complaints or losses. In such cases, immediately deactivate the refueling machine and notify maintenance personnel for repairs.

Check the motor belt. Inspect the belt to ensure proper tightness and no damage to its appearance. An excessively loose belt may result in slow or no oil output, while excessive tightness may cause vibration and increased noise. Damaged appearance can lead to sudden breakage, rendering the refueling machine inoperative and disrupting gas station operations.

Clean the filter. Cleaning frequency may vary depending on station conditions. Generally, new stations or pipelines should be cleaned weekly, while stations operating for more than three months should be cleaned monthly.

Conduct tanker self-tests. Each month, the station manager should use the 20L standard measuring cylinder provided by the company to conduct self-tests on the tanker's oil output, ensuring that the metering error is within ±0.3%.
